Monday Morning Museum: Georges-Pierre Seurat

Georges-Pierre Seurat – Friday 2 December 1859 Paris, France to Sunday 29 March 1891 Paris, France

French Pointillist Painter

Having spent Monday 12 August 2002 on the island of La Grande Jatte, I have an even more positive feeling for – A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, 1884-1886 – than I did when I first saw it at the Art Institute of Chicago in the previous century.

Last Monday’s Artist – Rembrandt van Rijn
Next Monday’s Artist – Thomas Sully
