Monday Morning Museum: Expressionism

Expressionism – Germany circa 1905 to the 1940s
Expressionism was a modernist movement, initially in poetry and painting, originating in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. Its typical trait is to present the world solely from a subjective perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or ideas. – Wikipedia.org

In addition to Franz Marc (see art example below), other artists using Expressionism are Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky, George Grosz and Amadeo Modigliani

Monday Morning Museum: Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky

Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky – 16 December 1866 Moscow, Russia to 13 December 1944 Neuilly-sur-Seine, France

Russian-born French Expressionist Painter

Kandinsky presents in this piece – Yellow-Red-Blue, 1925 – a work whose theme is the display of the primary pigment colors utilized in painting. I have used these same colors in the "Monday Morning Museum" logo.
