Monday Morning Museum: Francesco Lazzaro Guardi

Francesco Lazzaro Guardi – Sunday 5 October 1712 Venice, Italy to Tuesday 1 January 1793 Venice, Italy

Italian Rococo Era Painter

Although I have never been to Venice, Italy, I would love to experience a present day version of Guardi’s painting – Nighttime Procession in Piazza San Marco, 1758 – and perhaps photograph my version of a night in St. Mark’s Square.

Last Monday’s Artist – Lucas Cranach the Elder
Next Monday’s Artist – Charles Nègre
