Joseph Mallord William Turner – Sunday 23 April 1775 London, England to Friday 19 December 1851 London, England

This image by Turner – Old London Bridge, circa 1796-1797 – reminds me of the nursery rhyme whose first verse is “London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down, My fair lady.”

Last Monday’s Artist - Léon Joseph Florentin Bonnat
Next Monday’s Artist – Johannes Vermeer
